The Challenge
Kascaid is an early-stage biotech company developing non-invasive sampling technology for better patient care and drug development. They needed a website that would establish credibility with a diverse audience—pharma partners, research institutions, clinicians, patients, and deep tech investors—while reflecting their approachable, human-centered approach to science.
As a small team building their company in real time, they had limited content prepared and no prior experience working with a design agency. Their biggest concern: whether it was even possible to get a professional website up and running in a matter of weeks.
Being pre-product added another layer of complexity. They needed imagery that conveyed scientific credibility without locking them into a defined product look—visuals abstract enough to remain flexible, but grounded enough to feel authentically scientific.
Our Approach
We engaged Kascaid through our Webflow Sprint—a structured four-week process that compresses discovery, design, development, and launch into focused weekly phases.
We started by aligning on goals, audiences, and content priorities through collaborative working sessions. Using AI-assisted tools, we developed a sitemap and low-fidelity wireframes that balanced clarity with room to grow. From there, we created a lightweight brand refresh—refining their color palette and typography—then designed high-fidelity Figma comps for the homepage and key interior pages. The visual direction emphasized professionalism without losing the warmth and personality that defines their team.
For imagery, we developed a collaborative workflow that combined real scientific reference material with generative AI tools. We worked with the client to source technical illustrations and scientific imagery showing actual biology—ensuring every generated image had a foundation in real science. Using Flora.ai, we generated hundreds of image variations based on their brand colors, visual tone, and scientific references. We also created high-resolution looping videos for the homepage hero and page backgrounds. Across three working sessions, we shared our Flora workspace directly with the client, generating and refining images together in real time. Final assets were polished using multiple platforms including Google's Nano Banana Pro, OpenAI, and upscaling tools to achieve the resolution and quality needed for web.
With designs and imagery approved, we built the site directly in Webflow with responsive layouts, CMS collections for future content (publications, studies), and baseline interactions. The "Who We Serve" pages received particular attention, translating complex audience needs into clear, scannable content.
